Ms. Margaret Simon
UNOMIG Chief Administrative Officer
Margaret Simon took up her current position as Chief of Mission Support with the United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG) stationed in Sukhumi, Georgia in April 2006.
She came to this position having served for over 19 years in the United Nations System, including as the Chief of Training for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); Principal Management Advisor in the United Nations Staff College and Director of Personnel in the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD); Chief Administrative Officer in United Nations Logistic Base (UNLB), Brindisi Italy and United Nations Office in Timor Leste (UNOTIL). She was also the Chief Administrative Services in United Nations Mission in East Timor (UNMISET). Ms. Simon began her career in banking.
Ms. Simon holds a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and Human Resources Management from Fordham University, New York.
She is married, enjoys reading, exploring castles, motor cycle riding and learning to speak German. She divides her vacation between Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA and Schriesheim, Germany.
